It is situated at about 12 km north-east of Thrissur. Pattikad proudly hosts the Centre of H R P F (human rights protection front). This place is just 8 km from Peechi dam a tourist destination. The Kerala Forest Research Institute is situated between Pattikkad and Peechi. The Agricultural University is situated at Vellanikkara near Pattikkad.
